Crisp mornings, cool nights, turning leaves and already we are wanting to spend time snuggled up under warm covers. So, as the summer comes to an end we are happy to tell you …that we have decided to take another jump. We will keep the Tin Barn Market right here, in our cozy space in Almonte, all the way thru to the end of December.

WE’RE STAYING! …for a little longer anyways.

We’ve signed the lease, crossed our fingers, and have already begun to think about all the exciting new things we can bring in for the holidays and cooler months to come. We always like to know what special items you folks are searching for, or the kinds of things you would like to see us bring into the shop, so if you have any suggestions, ideas or recent crushes you’d like to share drop us a note.

So, while we are busy preparing for another four months here in Almonte, there are a few new things we thought you should know.

NO. 1

The ROOM MAKEOVER Contest Finalists have been chosen and posted. WOW! What an amazing response. There are still a few days of voting left, so if you haven’t had a chance to weigh in, check the rooms out HERE.  The WINNER will be declared on Friday Sept. 21st. We look forward to posting the BEFORE & AFTER photos before the end of October!

We know that it can be difficult for some people to make it to the shop during our regular hours, so we thought it might be fun to offer private late night shopping events to anyone who wants to bring a group of friends to the Tin Barn during the week.

How it will work: You round up 6 or more of your best pals, book a date and time with us and we will open up after-hours, exclusively for your group! We will add some good music, a few treats and throw in a couple of draws for Tin Barn prizes to make it a night of casual, fun shopping. An advance, non-refundable deposit of $10/pp (min. $60 via credit card payment) will be required at the time of booking. Each guest will then be credited $10 toward any purchase that is made that night.

Parties can be hosted any evening from Monday through Thursday and we require one week’s advance booking via EMAIL to confirm an available date.

Also, if you are interested in having dinner at one of the great restaurants in downtown Almonte, either before or after your shopping party, we would happily recommend one and/or book a reservation for you. Just mention this in your email.

ALEXANDRA JAY is now featuring a collection of her necklaces and earrings at the Tin Barn. XO, Heart, OH and Loopy pendants somehow manage to be playful and sophisticated all at the same time.  Alexandra casts them in silver with a brushed, polished or oxidized finish.

MEREDITH KUCEY-JONES’ delicate Root Pendant necklaces are made using a technique called piercing. They are individually handcut in silver by Meredith. Inspired by nature, they each feature a unique root pattern.

ZAJA DESIGNS was featured in our holiday pop-up shop and is now back with more bold and delicate gemstone earrings, bracelets & necklaces by Marta Wein. Popular stones this month are fire agate and turquoise combinations.

SASHA FREEMAN of Track & Field Designs sent us her popular and colourful collection of Rose & Dahlia earrings in a variety of hues mounted on surgical steel studs. Sweet and fun and just $12 each.

JENNA ROSE is our newest addition to the shop. We have been on the lookout for just the right textiles to soften and cozy up the shop and then by chance we met Jenna, who is also the partner behind the cottage industry Back Forty Artisan Cheese (yu-um). So, not only can we recommend their incredible cheese, but we were so happy to realize that Jenna creates simple, beautiful handmade pillows, totes, and tea towels that we felt were a perfect fit for the Tin Barn. Match up one of her organic screen printed pillows with a rustic Tin Barn chair and you’ve got instant charm in your space, we promise.

NEW to the
T I N   B A R N   F A M I L Y !

We want to OFFICIALLY WELCOME Sarah Dauncey and Judy Stone (Errin’s mom) to the Tin Barn family. They will be helping us out in the shop a couple of days a week so that we can spend more time hunting down great things and scheming future plans.

A lot of you may have already met Judy, she has been involved in the Tin Barn over the past year sharing her talents & passion for natural skin care products and is the maker of our natural, handmade soaps as well as our eco-friendly soy candles. It’s a big help to us to have her in the shop now as well and if you’re curious about how the soap is made, don’t be shy to ask her.

Sarah has been a longtime customer as well as a friend of ours who has a great eye for décor, shares a passion for cool finds, sewing & creating. You may have also seen her at Handmade Harvest as Phlox, making adorable bird mobiles. She’s got to be one of the nicest, friendliest gals we know and we are really happy to have Sarah be a part of the shop.

Our WEBSITE will be getting an update over the next little while. We’ll be adding more content, posting more of our products, and sharing more about the makers behind the handmade goods that we carry here in the shop.  Check back in soon!
