We. LOVE. Roadtrips.

This could become a serious addiction. We just got back from our latest jaunt down into the realm of gypsies, misfits and junk collectors  …and are already planning the next one. There is NOTHING like the open road – and when you get to drive a big box van you are perfectly poised when you come upon that “something” you just CAN’T walk away from.  We pretty much filled the truck again this time.  There are LOTS of pieces going into the workshop to be refinished, reworked or up-cycled.  The rest of our finds have inspired us to close the doors for a few days – an excuse to rearrange & freshen up the shop and get ready for (gulp)...

On the Hunt

You might remember us talking about Tracey & Steve of End of the Thread Antique Emporium ….well, a night at their place, a little wine and lots of ideas (…or visa versa) and they suggested we join them for a trip down to south this spring.  That’s all it took.  We were like fish on a hook.  A few weeks passed.  We looked into renting a trailer.  No, a van.  No, a cube van yeah!!  And next thing you know we were packing up and hitting the road. Room MAKEOVER revealed.

For those of you who might need a catch up, …we hosted a room makeover contest. We wanted to offer help to people out there who might be struggling with rooms that, for one reason or another, just haven’t come together. The plan was to use existing items in their house,  add a fresh eye and a little Tin Barn love and turn a problem space into a functional and enjoyable part of their home – in ONE DAY! The submissions came in and we whittled it down to 5 finalists (NOT easy) and by facebook vote, Kimberly Raycroft & Peter Shaughnessy were declared the winners!
