We. LOVE. Roadtrips.

This could become a serious addiction.

We just got back from our latest jaunt down into the realm of gypsies, misfits and junk collectors  …and are already planning the next one.

There is NOTHING like the open road – and when you get to drive a big box van you are perfectly poised when you come upon that “something” you just CAN’T walk away from.  We pretty much filled the truck again this time.  There are LOTS of pieces going into the workshop to be refinished, reworked or up-cycled.  The rest of our finds have inspired us to close the doors for a few days – an excuse to rearrange & freshen up the shop and get ready for (gulp) autumn.   So…

We took a lot less pictures this time because we were so busy hunting and getting to know some of the (very) colourful characters that make up the scene.  But just so you don’t feel left out, here is a little taste of this week’s adventure.

LOVE this bridge.

Just checking out some suspicious liquids and noises …ALL GOOD!

And, arrival!

If you look past the tents, cars, people and STUFF it’s very beautiful countryside

Here is a some of the stuff we DIDN’T buy.

We keep looking for an excuse to pick up these amazing vintage chocolate moulds.

Just need the right occasion…

Poor little guy : (

Creepy medical stuff anyone?

And some highlights.

STANLEY – our favourite vendor this show.  This guy had loads of stories to tell …and wait till you see the cards he’s made

LUNCH TIME!  Follow the smoke and line-up for your grub.  $9 gets you half a chicken, salt potatoes, corn, a roll and coleslaw.
…what?  the hunt can really work up an appetite.

and yes, that is a squeeze container of liquid butter.

And lowlights…

We made some new friends trying to find someone to break into our truck.  Somehow, our keys ended up on the wrong side of the padlocked door. We settled for a nice man with a pair of bolt cutters.

And, HOW. MANY. TIMES. will we have to rearrange our truck?

…to make room for “the hotel”.

All in all – great weather, great people, great finds!

See you after wednesday!

      Let’s chat!

  2. LOVE reading about your ROAD TRIP! Looking forward to seeing what amazing things you discovered on this trip. YOU guys ROCK!

  3. Just love the storytelling…looks like a fun adventure !

  4. Soooo glad you left the creepy medical supplies there. Nightmares 🙂 If you run across some inspiration for how to decorate with one of those demijohns in the truck, I’m all ears. I have one and can’t quite get the right way to display it without it just becoming a dust collector. Would love to see what the pros would do. Glad you had such a great trip! 🙂 Meredith

  5. just discovered your shop last week while you were on the road. Love the assortment. Can’t wait to get back.
